Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough 14 ounce package store bought or homemade
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • Pinch of Kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Pizza sauce or marinara sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment or spray generously with cooking spray.

  2. On a lightly floured surface, separate the pizza dough into fourths. Working with one piece at a time, flatten into rough 4x5-inch rectangles.

  3. Slice the dough rectangles into strips: Using a pizza wheel, slice each dough rectangle into 4 long strips (1 x 5-inches). Cut these strips in half in the middle so that you have 8 (1 x 2.5-inch) strips. Take the ends of the dough and stretch and tie into a knot. (over, under, and through); and place  on prepared baking sheet.

  4. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and oil.  Once butter has melted add the  the garlic, and cook for 1 minute over medium-low heat. Remove from heat and stir in  the garlic powder, Italian seasoning, parsley and a pinch of Kosher salt.

  5. Bake knots for 5 minutes.  Then brush the garlic knots lightly with the garlic butter. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the knots are golden brown. Remove from the oven and brush with the remaining butter mixture . Sprinkle each garlic knot with Parmesan and additional Kosher salt to taste.
