Broccoli and Beef smothered in an authentic Chinese sauce. Lower in fat and sugar than takeout! And so easy to whip up; no need to order take-out!!
In a glass measuring cup, mix the cornflour and water together. Add remaining Sauce ingredients.
Drizzle 2 tablespoons of the sauce over top of the beef. Then add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, stir and set aside.
While meat marinades, cut the broccoli in florets. In a large glass bowl, add the broccoli and 1/2 cup water. Then microwave the broccoli for about 8 minutes.
Heat olive oil in a skillet or wok over medium high heat. Add beef in one layer and cook for 2 minutes until browned.
Stir and add garlic and ginger. Continue to cook and stir until the beef is cooked through.
Add the sauce and the remaining water and stir.
Once mixture begins to bubble, add the cooked (drained) broccoli. Mix the broccoli in and then let it simmer for about 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce is slightly thickened.
Remove from heat and serve with rice.
